Shelly’s goal as a therapist is to empower clients to discover the courage and resilience to intentionally face life’s challenges with vulnerability, grace, and a willingness to be present. She is passionate about working with children, teens, and families. She loves helping people recognize their intrinsic value and personal strengths. She believes there is always something new to learn, if you are willing to be curious. Shelly graduated from Brigham Young University with her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She received her Master of Social Work from Utah State University. She is a licensed school social worker in Utah. She has experience working with all ages in inpatient hospitals, schools, and in the community.

She is a member of the Utah Association for Play Therapy. She has received training in play therapy (Child-Centered, Adlerian, Attachment-Centered, Theraplay), advanced sand tray therapy, expressive arts therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), specialized EMDR training with children and teens, grief counseling, Gottman Level 1 couples therapy, and Child and Parent Relationship Training (CPR-T). Shelly believes in an eclectic, collaborative approach, using a variety of therapeutic modalities to help each client discover gratitude, unlock joy, and embrace healing.
