Katie Roop completed her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Utah in 2016. Prior to coming to Grandview in 2020, Katie has experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families who were involved in the foster care system.
Through that work she witnessed the value of supporting people who have experienced trauma and attachment wounds. Katie utilizes integrative approaches with a focus on strengths based, client centered and a trauma-informed lens to create a safe empathetic space for each client’s needs.
Katie has training in Play Therapy, Sand Tray, Expressive Arts and other Trauma Informed modalities. Katie is a Registered Play Therapist. She is EMDR certified and Trauma-Focused CBT certified.
When not at work Katie enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, reading and eating good food.
